Home Learning 6th January 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Due to the continued snowfall and unsafe travel conditions, school will be closed again tomorrow. This decision has been made to ensure the safety of all pupils, families, and staff.

We understand that unexpected closures can be challenging, and we appreciate your patience and support.

To help keep learning going in a fun and manageable way, here are some optional home learning activities that your child may enjoy:

  • Reading: Encourage your child to read a book of their choice for at least 20 minutes and talk about their favourite part or draw a picture to illustrate their reading.

  • Writing: Write a set of instructions to explain how to build a snowman. Use the following video for guidance if needed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwD9y3BY8SM

  • Maths: Practise times tables on TTRS (a battle between Years 3 and 4 has been set up - additional Golden Play will be awarded as a class if Year 4 win!) or access the multiplication check practice at https://www.timestables.co.uk/multiplication-tables-check/. Helping with real-life maths such as measuring ingredients while cooking/baking is also a great way to practice maths skills!

  • Creative activities: Draw, paint or design a winter-themed picture or poster.

  • PE: Cosmic Yoga: https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga

These activities are intended to support learning in a relaxed way - please do not feel pressured to complete anything or everything; we understand that many parents and carers will be juggling working from home and may not be able to support their children's learning.

We will continue to keep you updated regarding reopening plans. Thank you again for your understanding and cooperation.

Kind regards,

Mrs Baker
